Collaborating Across Boundaries - Moving from ERP to RRP (Relationship Resource Planning)

Increased collaboration is at the forefront of the corporate and social agenda, yet for those of us negotiating and managing trading relationships, we know how hard collaboration can be.

Our IACCM global conferences are about bringing together the groups that represent the key stakeholders in every trading relationship – lawyers, project managers, contracts & commercial and procurement professionals.

Support and alignment between these stake-holders is critical to the success of any trading relationship and we have witnessed a spirit of collaboration, openness and inclusivity first-hand amongst our community at our events. And in the rapidly changing world of digitization, automation, and diversity, relationships are being forced into new approaches to collaboration.

This is just one of the reasons, we have chosen the theme “Collaborating Across Boundaries” for our 2018 global conferences.

We at IACCM, believe organisations must become more adept at working together in :

- the way trading partners are selected

- the way risks are viewed, allocated and handled

- the way contracts are negotiated and the focus of those negotiations

- the way skills are developed and resources are applied

- the way governance and performance management is undertaken

- the way change is addressed

- the way broader supply interdependencies are recognised and managed

The IACCM conferences enable conversations between people who would not normally meet each other outside a negotiation. With its focus on 'trading relationships', they rapidly find a uniting topic, something that all of them care about and consider important.

For several years, IACCM research has pointed to the scale of value erosion that comes from weaknesses in the way we form and manage contracts. While a few organizations have picked up on this and driven significant improvements, most have not.

Suddenly, the reticence is disappearing; there is a real belief that a focus on 'relationship resource planning' can yield the next big wave of savings - and that the IACCM community, with its 'collaboration across boundaries', will be at the heart of the movement that drives these benefits.

Be inspired by our key-note speakers and panelists, participate in our interactive debates and workshops and network and engage with our unique contract and commercial community of lawyers, project managers, contracts & commercial and procurement professionals. This three-day packed agenda also includes our addional Masterclasses, Leaders of the Future programme, Exhibition and Start Up Hub and Networking and Social Events.

A big thank you to our 2017 sponsors and supporting partners.  Email if you are interested in sponsoring our 2018 conference.

Exciting Features of the IACCM Australasia Conference

In addition to the main conference, a series of masterclasses will be held in the morning of 30 May prior to the conference opening.

Masterclasses are designed to take participants deeper into a field of interest, so you can walk away not only inspired by the conference, but with some practical insights and skills you can use back at work.

We are currently seeking member feedback on what would be of most interest and value, so if you have any thoughts on this email

Leaders of the Future

At IACCM we want to work closely with and support the younger members of our contract and commercial management community - those who will be our leaders of the future.  As such, we are incorporating a dedicated session as part of our 2018 Australasian Conference.

We are offering 20 complimentary places for ‘rising star’ individuals, and there is an opportunity for a major sponsor to support this fantastic program.  Email to receive our Sponsorship Opportunities kit and for more information.

Innovation and Start-up Hub

Another exciting initiative, running for the second time at our 2018 Australasian Conference, is the IACCM Conference Innovation and Start-Up Hub.   We’re looking for start-ups with innovative new concepts, that have the potential to solve some of commercial management’s biggest challenges, to join our members at the conference where they will be given a free presentation space to demonstrate and explain their concept.

Whether it’s a new app utilizing blockchain, a technology just out of R&D, or an innovative piece of contracting software, we want to showcase the companies that will help change commercial management over the next 5-10 years.

Only five start-up companies will be selected from all applications received, so this gives them another chance to develop their ‘pitch’.

And again, we have a sponsorship opportunity for organisations who want to encourage innovative start-up companies.  Email to receive our Sponsorship Opportunities kit and for more information.
