The Hotel
The Royal Garden Hotel opened in 1965 and was an official hotel for the FIFA World Cup the following year. The hotel also hosted the Euro 96 Championships, the Cricket World Cup 1999 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2004.
From Sir Bobby Charlton to current day soccer stars, from leading Japanese sumo wrestlers to international rugby and cricket teams, including most recently the England Rugby Team and the current Rugby World Champions South Africa, The Royal Garden remains the international sportspersons London hotel of choice.
The Royal Garden Hotel also boasts a rock star heritage. This has much to do with the location on High Street Kensington where swinging London took off in the 1960s. At that time, guests included Sonny and Cher, Abba and the Monkees. Contemporary pop acts and opera divas still like to stay here, with nearby venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, within a five-minute walk and Hammersmith Apollo and Shepherds Bush Empire close at hand.
From 1994 to 1996, the hotel was completely renovated, assuring its status as a major five-star for the capital.
Today, the hotel remains privately owned, with two sister properties in Singapore, The Goodwood Park Hotel and York Hotel.

Dining
The Royal Garden Hotel offers something for every mood, from a quick in-room breakfast for the business traveller (room service is 24 hours, and includes a Lebanese selection) to a traditional English offering in The Park Terrace Restaurant.
The Park Terrace Restaurant is open throughout the day, and offers a wide range of different menu's and dishes, including the new seasonal Dinner Menu derived from the highest quality ingredients conceived by Executive Chef Steve Munkley.
For a convivial English pint, or a late-night Martini, head for Bertie's, the hotel's landmark bar overseen by a Royal Garden stalwart, Luis Cobas.
The Park Terrace also has a Cafe and Bar located on the lobby level where well-heeled locals mingle with business people and hotel guests throughout the day. For that most English of institutions come and enjoy afternoon tea in the comfortable and relaxing surroundings.
