In this program, IACCM will interview Kevin Colangelo, General Counsel and Vice President, Legal Services of Pangea3, a leading provider of legal and contract management outsourcing services. Participants on the call will gain insights to the latest trends in outsourcing contract and legal services, as well as the internal impacts and opportunities that it generates.
Few companies publicize their outsourcing initiatives in this area, yet behind the scenes IACCM has observed a steady increase in the volume and type of activities that are being shifted to both on-shore and off-shore providers. Kevin will touch on three primary trends (see below); our conversation will also address the broader question of what opportunities result from this re-allocation of tasks and resources. For example, what happens to freed-up staff? To what extent does help desk consolidation enable improved business information and streamlined processes?
The three trends that we will discuss are:
- Contract mgmt as a core compliance function.
- LPO as tool for implementation of process-driven contracting within both legal and procurement.
- Contracting Help Desk. Centralized resource for questions on entirety of contracting process (creation through execution; central knowledge-management repository, traffic cop).
Speaker: Kevin Colangelo
 Kevin Colangelo is the General Counsel and Vice President, Legal Services for Pangea3 LLC.
Kevin has sixteen years of experience in the outsourcing industry. Prior to joining Pangea3, he practiced corporate law at Shaw Pittman and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel in New York City, where he specialized in outsourcing and technology transactions, including IT and business process outsourcing agreements; application development, implementation and distribution agreements; software licensing and maintenance agreements; e-commerce and other Internet-related agreements; and technology acquisition and consulting agreements. He has substantial experience representing both outsourcing consumers and service providers, with clients that include Pfizer, Lehman Brothers, Universal Music Group, MetLife, TD Bank Financial Group and OppenheimerFunds.
Kevin has been recognized in the outsourcing industry as a thought-leader and expert negotiator who takes a business-first approach to dealmaking. He regularly lectures and writes on legal and business issues related to the outsourcing industry.
Kevin received his J.D. degree from Vermont Law School (cum laude) in 1994 and his B.A. from Hamilton College in 1989. Kevin is a member of the bars of New York and New Jersey, and is admitted to practice in the United States Court of International Trade and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
