Multi-source vs. single-source approach to software application development
I would like to get some experience and recommendations from members and experts in the multi-source approach to software application development. We are thinking about contracting with two separate companies - a software development company, and a software testing company. Is this the optimal choice to improve quality and reduce risks and costs.

It very much depends on the quality of your internal skills - in two respects. First, do you have the people who can effectively undertake testing? Second (if you do not) do you have the people who can effectively oversee the relationship with the two companies you hire?
