IACCM Learning Resources

The Learning Resources portal provides a range of learning modules and relevant resources specifically for contracting professionals. These resources can include links to a wealth of contract management information, tools and templates. IACCM has worked to define robust, Web-based curricula supporting the entire contracting lifecycle and the skill and knowledge requirements for both the sales and procurement functions. Take a look at either the Sales Curriculum or Procurement Curriculum, which you can access from the links below.

The Contract Management life cycle extends from pre-bid activities, through bid processes, drafting, negotiations and post-award contract management. There are also modules that cross all phases, and these Foundation modules are found below the phases. Modules run an average of 30 minutes with audio and visuals, and provides up to 2 hours of instruction when combined with integrated reading materials, case studies and surveys.

We also offer group facilities which include options such as on-line skills assessment and professional development planning (please contact info@iaccm.com for more details and applicable charges). In addition, individuals and groups may apply for IACCM Professional Certification, which is an internationally recognized accreditation program (see below).

IACCM Certification

There are four level of certification available: Associate, Member, Certified Member and Fellow.

The IACCM Certification Program is undertaken on-line and includes Skills Assessment and validation, and an examination to confirm knowledge of the Contract Management Life Cycle. Certification applications will be approved by a review board of senior managers / executives.

IACCM's Certification processes support those who are charged with managing or negotiating today's complex business-to-business contracts and relationships. Our unique approach saves substantial time and cost, provides you with instant visibility of your skill and knowledge levels, the tools to drive on-going personal development to achieve your goals.

The IACCM certification process includes competency assessments, reviews, and examinations and personalized training curriculums, recognized by leading executive search firms and major international employers. As an Association, we are interested in best practice - individuals, functions and processes.

IACCM's unique web-based assessment system supports evaluation of current knowledge and skill set. This approach enables comprehensive professional development planning and provides a global overview of individual capabilities. The assessments are available online, 24 x 7 through our secure application to participants and designated reviewers.

The assessment provides an understanding of the relative skill and knowledge performance for each of the participants. IACCM - Research and Learning has performed assessment for several thousand contracting professionals, representing over 200 companies in every industry worldwide.

IACCM's contract management knowledge examination covers the full life cycle of contract management. There are exams for both the Sales and Procurement tracks. You can expect to have to complete around 100 multiple-choice questions in two hours. Since the exam is also in the online assessment tool, it can be done on your schedule, but once started can not be stopped. A case study questionnaire follows the exam, if you are applying for Certified Member or higher.

Certification is at one of these four levels:

Associate (ACCM): open to anyone working in a contracts / commercial management role or directly related field who has or is undertaking relevant training and can demonstrate appropriate skills and knowledge.

Member (MCCM): will be working in contract / commercial management or sourcing and have a minimum 2 years experience in this field (or 5 years in a related field). Although experience will be limited, a member will have appropriate qualifications and will have demonstrated their potential skills through job performance and success in the appropriate IACCM on-line examination.

Certified Member (MCCMCert): a certified member is likely to have a minimum 7 years experience and be in a management or senior specialist role. In addition to demonstrating highly developed skills and knowledge, a certified member will also be required to submit a brief written transcript regarding their work experience, plus undertaking a more extensive on-line examination (multiple choice plus case study analysis). The application will be approved by a review board of senior managers / executives. Certified members are invited to volunteer as mentors for more junior members of the profession.

Fellow (FCCM): a fellow is elected by the Advisory Board and, in addition to outstanding experience and performance in their career, must demonstrate a record of contribution to the profession and its development. A fellow undertakes initial certification using the same template as a certified member and should also submit a written transcript and resume. As part of the fellow certification process, he or she is interviewed by a panel of other fellows (typically phone interview). Fellow status is then granted dependent on submission of a research paper on a mutually agreed topic within 6 months of appointment.

Members can request re-certification (to move to the next level) not less than one year after their initial certification. All members must renew their certification every two years, demonstrating that they continued to perform tasks relevant to the profession and their status within it.

IACCM Certification - Member and Certified Levels Pricing:

Associate $75 per person
Member $150 per person
Certified Member $250 per person
Fellow $500 per person
