Kay Pang


Kay is an attorney with 20 years of legal experience and a deep knowledge of ethics and compliance as well as commercial transactions. She is particularly well-versed in the field of IT, Software, Cloud, Big Data & AI, Ethics & Compliance, Corporate and Litigation. Kay spent 8 years in private practice with Allen & Overy LLC, a London City law firm, and Drew & Napier LLC, the largest litigation firm in Singapore. Thereafter, Kay worked in Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for another 8 years where she headed the APJ commercial legal team in supporting its Enterprise, Software and Cloud business units. After leaving HPE, Kay joined Cloudera, a US Big Data, Machine Learning and AI company, where she led the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) legal team through its listing in the NYSE, covering all legal commercial, corporate, and ethics and compliance matters. Currently, Kay is the Senior Director and Associate General Counsel, and APJ Ethics and Compliance Officer in VMWare Inc.

Kay's strengths lie in her strategic business partnering of executive management teams, large deal negotiations and risk assessment. She has a keen focus on driving practical, business-oriented solutions. Kay is also experienced in guiding businesses through corporate change management, ethics and compliance challenges, M&A/integrations, IPO, and spearheading transformative processes and procedures. She has broad Asia and WW exposure with ability to lead and communicate well with teams from diverse backgrounds and cultures. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. In recognition of her high performance, Kay has received a number of awards from the organisations she has worked in including the Cloudera Global Most Valuable Player Award 2018, Cloudera Data Impact Award 2017, HP Appreciation Award 2015, HP Winners' Circle Award 2013. Kay is called to the Bar of England & Wales (Barrister-at-Law) and the Supreme Court of Singapore.

On the personal front, Kay enjoys reading, travelling and a variety of sports and outdoor activities. She is a single mum with 2 active boys aged 7 and 11, and de-stresses by tumbling around with them.
In becoming a council member at IACCM, Kay hopes to contribute her knowledge gained from her varied experience towards IACCM's contracting and legal compliance solutions, provide insights from an Asian and South East Asia perspective, and help broaden IACCM's reach globally.
