Open online contract management course inspired by UK Government proves massively appealing
'With research identifying that 40% of contracts do not achieve their financial target, the huge demand for the skills needed to create and sustain successful business relationships was predictable,' said Tim Cummins, CEO of the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM).
'These contract management skills are not taught in academic business studies courses despite the fact that they are fundamental in enabling our global networked economy. The online course is an inspiring development in closing this hole in the business curriculum. I am particularly excited that it is the UK Government prompting this initiative and that it is IACCM which has the capability to turn it in to a global program,' he said.
Contract Management: Building Relationships in Business is an intensive, three-week Massive Open Online Course, or MOOC, that cuts through the complexities of the contract management process. It started on 27th April with content posted for week 1 which learners can access at their convenience. The open course has been developed by the University of Southampton and IACCM, in collaboration with the UK Cabinet Office and Civil Service Learning.
