Association Objectives

World Commerce & Contracting was previously known as the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM).

The association was established in New York in 1999 as a not for profit under the name ‘International Association of Contract and Commercial Managers Inc’.

While our operating name has changed to reflect our expanded role and mission, our registered name and objectives remain intact:

World Commerce & Contracting is the new operating name for the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM)

To transform the landscape for the creation, execution and governance of trading relationships through promotion of the latest technologies, techniques and methods.

To define and promote the role of contracts and commercial management professionals in industry and commerce.

To establish international, cross-industry certification standards for contracts and commercial professionals.

To document and publish an agreed set of assessment criteria which can be used as an objective to evaluate the skills and knowledge of individual professionals.

To promote the interests of the contracts and commercial management profession through the availability of data and information illustrating its purpose, benefits, contribution, and achievements.

To enhance the skills and knowledge of members by enabling regular exchanges of information and ensuring the availability of appropriate, structured education and training.

To attract and facilitate the entry of new recruits to the profession.

To sponsor and support the development of working groups and research projects which benefit individual members and their employing organization.

To promote and support the continuous development of global contracting and commercial standards.

To provide assessment and analysis to support organizational design, development and competence.
