Certification Renewal and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Certification renewal is required every 2 years from the date of certification. To continue to be certified, you must remain an active IACCM paid member and have completed the equivalent of 40 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) over the prior 2 year period. This can be achieved through a variety of activities, primary examples being:
- Qualifying programs from IACCM (e.g. IACCM conferences, IACCM member meetings, Ask the Expert sessions or webinars)
- Contributions to the professional community such as research conducted, articles written, training programs developed or professional mentoring
- Relevant training or events that have direct value to personal development and the field of contract and commercial management from other respected organizations
CPD is a self-managed process. IACCM offers a tracking tool for your CPD recording under your IACCM membership account, which can be found at My IACCM > My Account > Training a& Certification (see right hand side Menu) > Track my CPD points (or by clicking here). The certified member needs to maintain a sufficient record of continuing education activities and associated credits/hours, which are periodically verified by IACCM.
CPD points are usually manually registered by members via their accounts. Please add 1 CPD point per each hour of lecture/instruction/seminar or webinar you have undertaken, excluding networking time at physical events (this applies to IACCM and independent events). If you have a certificate this can be used in addition to corroborate your CPD claim. In the case of IACCM events, if you register for these via the IACCM website, your points will automatically be allocated to your account and can be found immediately after the event.
